Lady Gaga is expected to team up with the NFL to ensure her 2017 hits the previous year’s high notes.

The pop singer has signed a contract to perform during the halftime show at Super Bowl LI, US Weekly’s Nicholas Hautman reported Sunday, citing a source. Gaga’s Super Bowl performance will take place on Feb. 5, 2017 at NRG Stadium in Houston — just three-plus months after the release of her studio album — in front of the largest U.S. television audience of the year.

“Following much speculation, the ‘Perfect Illusion’ singer, 30, has officially signed on to perform at the 51st annual football championship event …, ” Hautman writes.

Speculation about Gaga’s halftime-show agreement flared last week, and the US Weekly report appears to confirm this rumor to be true.

Gaga sang the national anthem prior to Super Bowl 50 and received great acclaim for doing so. Her looming appearance at this season’s championship game represents increased prominence among the show-business elite. Artists such as Beyonce, Madonna, Katy Perry and Bruno Mars have performed at recent Super Bowl halftime shows.

Maybe she’ll sustain the momentum throughout 2017.
