Canada playing in Tuesday night’s Game 1 of the 2016 World Cup of Hockey final is no surprise, but their opponent, Team Europe, wasn’t expected to be here.
Team Europe upset the United States in the preliminary round and Sweden in the semifinals to reach this best-of-three final, but its next task is quite difficult. Europe must be Canada twice to win the tournament, and no team has even done that so far.
