No division titles were clinched at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night, but there still was plenty of action to keep the home crowd entertained.
The Boston Red Sox’s matchup with the rival New York Yankees temporarily took a back seat in the fifth inning, when a Yankees fan’s proposal to his girlfriend went horribly wrong. Just as the Jumbotron began showing the young couple’s romantic moment, disaster struck, as the poor fan somehow managed to drop the engagement ring.
Poor guy proposed to his girlfriend in Yankee Stadium stands but dropped the ring and now everyone's crawling around looking for it. Bummer.

The incident prompted a massive search party in the left field seats, as fans jumped in to try to help the panicked man find the ring. And after several agonizing minutes, their hard work paid off.

The entire stadium erupted when the missing ring was located, as players from both teams looked on in bemusement. And fortunately for this guy, she said yes despite his proposal blunder.
Biggest moment of your life, whatever you do … don’t drop the ring. https://t.co/rHMN3kWETj pic.twitter.com/k4JYgM62oJ

The Red Sox weren’t as successful, suffering a 6-4 loss that squandered their chance to clinch the American League East. At least love won, though.
