The Cleveland Indians received a good luck charm from the site of their last triumph — Braves Field.
The last time the Indians won a World Series title, they defeated the Boston Braves at Braves Field back in 1948. Since then, Braves Field has undergone several transformations and now is home to Boston University athletics. Only the right field grandstands remain today, and the venue was renamed to Nickerson Field back in the 1950s.
But that didn’t stop Rhett, the Boston University Terriers’ mascot, from shoveling up some dirt and sending it to the Indians for some good luck.
Did you know the @Indians won their last World Series at Nickerson Field (Braves Field)? Rhett thought we should send something for luck… pic.twitter.com/Sjx7qO2xEf

Shortly after that, the Indians confirmed receiving the package from the Terriers.
Got it! It's headed to our Bob Feller Exhibit to join other cool '48 #WorldSeries stuff! #RallyTogether pic.twitter.com/5aZEpLDHrI
