The civil rape trial against New York Knicks point guard Derrick Rose came to a close Wednesday.
An eight-person jury found Rose and two friends not liable of gang-raping Rose’s ex-girlfriend. The woman, who alleged the rape occurred in 2013, originally sought $21.5 million in the suit.
“I am thankful that the jury understood and agreed with me,” Rose told The Associated Press, via ESPN.com. “This experience and my sensitivity to it was deep. I am ready to put this behind me and focus on my family and career.”
People were seen taking photos with a smiling Rose and his attorney after the trial, and the Los Angeles Times’ Joel Rubin reported they were jury members.

After the verdict was announced, Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald told Rose, “Best wishes. Except when the Knicks play the (Los Angeles) Lakers,” according to the New York Post.
