Julian Edelman Thought Rex Ryan’s Conference Call Prank Was ‘Strange’

Rex Ryan’s crazy antics are nothing new, but count New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman as someone who still doesn’t fully understand the Buffalo Bills head coach’s behavior.

Edelman was asked Monday on WEEI’s “Ordway, Merloni & Fauria” what he thought about Ryan jokingly posing as a reporter and asking him a question during a conference call a few days before the Patriots’ Week 4 loss to the Bills.

“I didn’t find out until I saw it on Twitter, I mean it is what it is,” Edelman said. “I thought it was strange. God forbid if our coach did something like that. All fun and games, but I don’t know, is there a rule about that? You can talk to a player? I don’t know.”

Still, like most of us, Edelman recognizes that Ryan’s comments were made in jest, and the Patriots wideout doesn’t seem too upset about the whole thing.

What do you think?  Leave a comment.

“No, Rex is a fun guy, and that’s his persona,” Edelman said. “I was more worried about going out and play the Bills, not have fun on an interview call. That’s Rex, and I’m not here to talk about the Bills. I’m hear to talk about Cincinnati.”
