Many basketball fans have played the video game “NBA 2K,” but not many can say they played the game in an NBA arena.
A young fan, who won the opportunity to play “NBA 2K” at the Boston Celtics’ Shamrock Gala, played the game alongside Isaiah Thomas at TD Garden on Friday before the C’s showdown with the Toronto Raptors, according to Bill Doyle of the Worcester Telegram and Gazette.

Much like he does with actual basketball, Thomas took this round of video games very seriously, as MassLive.com’s Jay King shared with a collection of tweets.

The Celtics will be without Thomas on Friday as he misses his second straight game with a groin injury.
