Tim Tebow’s path to Cooperstown, N.Y., reportedly hit a snag “the other day.”
The New York Mets minor leaguer recently sprained his ankle by stepping on a sprinkler, according to the New York Times’ James Wagner. The former NFL quarter is just fine, though, as he’s been taking batting practice since suffering the injury.

In a move perhaps unrelated, Tebow took to Twitter to share a Bible verse shortly after the news broke.

Although Tebow surely will begin the 2018 Major League Baseball season in the minors, there appears to be some hope of him helping the Mets in the future. New York manager Mickey Callaway recently said the 30-year old could help “at the major-league level at some point.”
For the record: In 126 games across two levels of Single-A ball last season, Tebow hit .226 with eight home runs, 24 doubles and 52 RBI. He also averaged a strikeout per game.
