Browns GM Reveals Which Team Has Called About Acquiring No. 1 Pick

The Cleveland Browns possess one of the most coveted assetsĀ in all of the NFL, but it isn’t any player on their current roster.

The Browns own the No. 1 overall pick for a second consecutive year. Cleveland is in a great spot entering late April’s draft in Dallas, as it also owns the No. 4 selection.

Cleveland has been one of the most active teams this offseason, trading for quarterback Tyrod Taylor and signing running back Carlos Hyde, among other transactions. And judging from the Browns general manager’s recent comments, it sounds like he’s not opposed to continue wheeling and dealing.

Speaking with the media at the NFL Annual Meeting on Monday, John Dorsey acknowledged that teams have inquired about trading for the No. 1 pick, and he isn’t ruling out a potential deal for the top selection.

One has to imagine the New York Jets no longer are in the running for the No. 1 pick, as Gang Green recently acquired the No. 3 pick in a blockbuster deal with the Indianapolis Colts. But considering the talent in this year’s class, other teams likely are willing to give up what it takes to get into a spot to draft a franchise-altering player.

That said, the Brown very well could just hang on to the No. 1 pick, which in all likelihood would result in the drafting of USC quarterback Sam Darnold.
