LeBron James Denies Visiting Philly Schools During NBA All-Star Break

Some rumors are just too good to be true.

The LeBron James-to-Philadelphia 76ers speculation reached peak hysteria with a recent report that the Cleveland Cavaliers star checked out Philly-area private schools during the NBA All-Star break. Sixers fans, who already have been going above and beyond to court James, unsurprisingly interpreted the report as evidence James wants to join Ben Simmons and Co.

But The King did his best to squash those rumors Thursday ahead of the Cavs’ matchup with the Sixers.

“In Pennsylvania? No. What are you talking about?” James told NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Jessica Camerato. “Over the All-Star break? No. I was on vacation and I went to Los Angeles.”

So is James telling the truth? It’s tough to know for sure, but it’s hard to imagine him visiting Philly, knowing full-well the type of distraction it could create. Still, James can opt out of his current deal and become a free agent after the season, and Philly reportedly is gearing up for a run at the NBA’s best player.

The march toward the Summer of LeBron (version 3.0) continues.
