The Oklahoma City Thunder collapsed worse than any NBA team has collapsed late in the game all season.
And that’s not an exaggeration.
The Thunder led the Boston Celtics by five points with 16.8 seconds left. But thanks to some woeful free throw shooting by OKC, Boston got back into the game and won it on a 3-pointer from Marcus Morris, going ahead 100-99 with 1.2 seconds left.
So just how bad was the Thunder’s collapse?
Take a look at this:
The Celtics trailed by 5 with 16.8 seconds to go and won.
Entering today, teams were 0-884 this season when trailing by 5 or more points in the final 20 seconds of the game. pic.twitter.com/pgZ87K2gbv

You read that right. 884 times entering Tuesday the team leading by five points with 20 seconds to go won the game.
The Thunder entered the night riding a six-game win streak, so if you’re going to have that streak snapped, why not do it in the craziest way possible?
