Garrett Crochet certainly looked the part in his Red Sox debut.

The left-handed ace started his first game of the spring against the Blue Jays on Sunday and proved why the excitement was well-warranted.

Crochet struck out four batters before he was pulled with two outs in the second inning. He threw 26 pitches, including a 17-pitch first inning in which the 25-year-old struck out the side. Crochet allowed three hits with one walk but did not allow a run.

With a runner on second base and two outs in the second, Crochet induced weak contact from Blue Jays designated hitter R.J. Schreck but Boston wasn’t able to record an out on the slow-hit ground ball. The southpaw was pulled with runners at the corners.
