Red Sox newcomer Alex Bregman is already on the record about being impressed by Boston’s “Big Three” prospects.

But what exactly stands out to Bregman about Roman Anthony, Marcelo Mayer and Kristian Campbell?

Bregman offered up a detailed scouting report on each one of the prospects to The Boston Globe’s Peter Abraham, and Red Sox fans will feel even better — if that’s even possible — about Anthony, Mayer and Campbell after seeing what the MLB veteran said about the star-studded trio.

“Definitely mature beyond his years,” Bregman said of Anthony. “Really good approach at the plate. Can obviously hit the ball really hard but also has a good strike zone and takes his walks. I think he is going to be an elite, elite hitter in the game.”

Mayer had some bumps in the road with injuries the past couple of seasons, allowing Anthony and Campbell to become more prized prospects in the eyes of pundits. But Bregman certainly likes what he sees out of the 22-year-old shortstop, who is batting .350 (7-for-20) with one run and six RBIs during spring training.

“He’s a hell of a player all-around,” Bregman said. “Can swing the bat and so fluid, defensively, always in rhythm catching the ball. Physical. Just an all-around baseball player who loves to play. A grinder.”

It took a while for Campbell to get going during the exhibition slate, but he seems to have found his stride a little now in the batter’s box. Campbell has a hit in three straight games.

And Bregman sees why everyone is so high on the 22-year-old who can play both in the infield and outfield.

“Advanced approach at the plate, obviously,” Bregman said. “High on-base percentage guy. Can hit the ball hard to all fields. Really, really good athlete. Can play multiple positions.”

Bregman might have to wait a little bit to be teammates with Anthony, Mayer and Campbell. Despite the hype surrounding them, it’s trending like they will all start the season with Triple-A Worcester.
