The second and final meeting between the Boston Bruins and Nashville Predators got started off quickly. Charlie Coyle potted his fifteenth goal of the year less than five minutes into the first period to open up scoring. The Predators’ Tommy Novak countered with a goal of his own, and Ryan O’Reilly added on another goal to bring the score to 2-1 in the first.

The Bruins opened up scoring once again in the second period, this time from Jordan Jordan Oesterle who scored his first as a Bruin to tie the game 2-2. The goal extended David Pastrnak’s home point-streak to 12 games, the 7th longest streak in the last 30 years. He would go on to assist on the third and final Bruins goal in the third period. Steven Stamkos scored the lone Predators goal in the second period, bringing the score to 3-2 and tying him with Mike Bossy for 23rd all-time goals scored in NHL history at 573.

Morgan Geekie scored his 20th goal of the season to open up scoring in the third period and tie the game once again. However, goals by Jonathan Marchessault and Ryan O’Reilly would put the Predators up 5-3 before scoring a final empty-netter to finish the game 6-3. It was the Bruins 7th lost in their last 8 games.

Jeremy Swayman played in a career high 45th game, facing 28 shots and stopping 23 of them.
