The Boston Bruins got one more move in under the buzzer of the NHL’s 3 p.m. ET trade deadline.

The Black and Gold acquired defenseman Daniil Misyul from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for forward Marc McLaughlin, the club announced Friday after the deadline had passed.

McLaughlin is the second Massachusetts native to be traded by the Bruins at the trade deadline, after Boston dealt Charlie Coyle to the Colorado Avalanche earlier in the day.

The 25-year-old forward spent the last four seasons with the Bruins organization after signing with the Original Six club in the late stages of the 2021-22 campaign. In 26 games during that span, he had six goals, 44 hits, and a minus-2 rating.

“A hometown young man that can’t speak enough about his character and personality,” Bruins general manager Don Sweeney told reporters at a press conference at Warrior Ice Arena after the deadline. “We want to thank him for being a Bruin.”

Misyul has also spent the majority of his season in the AHL. The 6-foot-3 blue-liner has skated in 47 games with the Utica Comets, recording eight assists.

The 24-year-old defender made his NHL debut on Oct. 22 against the Tampa Bay Lightning. It was the only game Misyul was drafted by the Devils in the third round of the 2019 draft.
