Bruins Send Heartfelt Message To Brad Marchand After Trading Captain

Marchand played 16 seasons in Boston

The Boston Bruins dealt franchise legend Brad Marchand in a shocking deal Friday with the Florida Panthers at the NHL trade deadline.

The Black and Gold worked with the Panthers to give the captain the opportunity to win a second Stanley Cup championship “with a really good team.”

The Bruins said goodbye to the homegrown talent with a heartfelt post on X and Instagram since the deal was official with the league.

“Brad, for 16 years you have represented the Spoked-B with immense pride and passion. You set the tone every night with your intensity and drive, while becoming one of the best players in the history of our franchise.

“You will forever be a Boston Bruin.

“Thank you for everything,” the post read.

Marchand’s next chapter will have to wait roughly three to four weeks as he works his way back from the upper-body injury he sustained in the Bruins’ March 1 game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
