Stefon Diggs should provide the Patriots with a shot in the arm, and no group needs that more than the wide receivers.
The youthful receiver room is slated to feature a pair of third-year players (DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte) and a pair of incoming sophomores (Ja’Lynn Polk, Javon Baker). While no one emerged last season, the rookie tandem of Polk and Baker represented two of the biggest disappointments on the entire roster.
During the latest episode of NESN’s “Foxboro Rush” podcast, Keagan Stiefel and Kasey Hudson unpacked Diggs’ introductory press conference and explained why Polk might be the biggest beneficiary of his arrival.
“I think this is a good relationship to have because Polk clearly had a mental hurdle he needed to get over last year, and he never quite could,” Stiefel said. “I think having Stefon Diggs in the room this year with him — there’s no lack of confidence in Stefon Diggs and being able to give a little bit of that to a young wide receiver I think could be good for the Patriots.”
Diggs expressed a desire to help the youthful room navigate the highs and lows.

“Just having a guy who’s done it before and who needed to work his way into a certain system at the beginning of his career, I think could go a long way for Polk and Baker, Boutte, the rest of those guys,” Stiefel said.
