NESN is set to air 151 regular-season Red Sox games this year
NESN, New England’s premier sports network, will begin its coverage of the 2025 Red Sox regular season Thursday, March 27 when the Red Sox visit the Texas Rangers for their first series of the season. Fans can catch all the action on NESN and NESN 360.
NESN’s Opening Day programming begins with a Red Sox Classics Marathon, featuring five back-to-back reruns of historical games from 3 a.m.-1 p.m. ET, followed by “Wally’s Opening Day,” an animated special detailing the Red Sox mascot’s efforts to get Fenway Park ready for Opening Day.
Live coverage begins at 2:30 p.m. ET with an extended 90-minute pregame show, featuring “Red Sox First Pitch Live,” presented by Rodenheiser Home Services, and “Red Sox Game Day Live,” presented by Plymouth Rock Assurance. First pitch is set for 4:05 p.m. ET, followed by an hour of postgame coverage starting at 7 p.m ET, featuring “Red Sox Extra Innings,” presented by W.B. Mason, and “Red Sox Final.”
NESN’s broadcast team for Opening Day will feature NESN play-by-play announcer Dave O’Brien. Color analysts include Red Sox alumni Lou Merloni, with Kevin Millar joining for the series’ Saturday and Sunday games. Jahmai Webster returns as sideline reporter.
NESN’s studio team will be led by longtime host Tom Caron, who celebrates his 30th year with NESN this season, alongside Red Sox legends Jonathan Papelbon and Jim Rice as analysts.
Following the Opening Series against the Rangers, the Red Sox will face the Baltimore Orioles before returning to Fenway Park for their home opener against the St. Louis Cardinals on April 4. NESN’s coverage begins at 12 p.m. ET.
