The New England Patriots have roughly $136 million in cap space to spend this offseason and with many positions to upgrade, they should use it.

With Christian Barmore’s medical status unknown and the decision to move on from Davon Godchaux, Patriots insider Mike Giradi says the Patriots could be in the mix for Eagles defensive tackle Milton Williams.

“Milton Williams is a very popular player,” Giradi wrote for Boston Sports Journal on Thursday. “In fact, he has become the prize for this period. $20 million per appears to be the floor for any deal, and the Pats are expected to be involved.”

Giradi added that one scout said, “He fits how they want to play up front under Vrabel. He can get up the field and impact the QB.”

Williams had a breakout year in 2024 and now is going to be a free agent at just 25 years old. He had five sacks in the regular season and shined in the postseason as well. Williams played a big role in the team’s Super Bowl LIX win against the Kansas City Chiefs. He had two sacks, a forced fumble and recovered a fumble in the Super Bowl.

The Louisiana Tech product has 11 1/2 sacks and 132 tackles in 67 games with the Eagles. It definitely seems like the Patriots could use a player like Williams on defense.
