Friday will be a very eventful day at Fenway Park.

After back-to-back road sets to kick off the 2025 MLB season, the Red Sox will play their first home series of the year this weekend against the St. Louis Cardinals. The opener will mark the start of Boston’s 114th season at the historic ballpark, and the storied franchise will honor the occasion accordingly.

Before the first pitch of the matinee matchup, the Red Sox will welcome back members of the 1975 team to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the memorable club’s American League pennant triumph. At that time, the organization will remember a critically important figure of that group, franchise Hall of Famer Luis Tiant, who died last October at 83 years old.

The Red Sox are encouraging fans to be in their seats by 1:30 p.m. ET for the pregame festivities, which also will include team introductions, a presentation of the colors, a flyover and the national anthem performed by the Boston Arts Academy “Treble Allstars.”

NESN and NESN 360 will have full coverage — including all of the pregame action — of Boston’s home opener beginning at noon ET. First pitch is set to follow at 2:10 p.m.
