Boston College earned a much needed victory on Saturday afternoon to keep their tournament hopes alive, beating Maryland 76-72 at Conte Forum.

Shooting guard Reggie Jackson scored a career-high 31 points with eight rebounds for the Eagles. With 1:01 time left in the game, Jackson crushed the Terrapins' comeback hopes by nailing a 3-pointer to extend a four-point lead to seven.

The Terrapins team had five players with double-digit scoring, led by Dino Gregory's 15 points.

In a close game with eight lead changes and six ties, BC also barely beat Maryland on the boards, 33-32, and had one fewer turnover, 14-15.

With the win, BC improved to 16-9 overall and 6-5 in the ACC. Next Saturday on Feb. 19, BC will play No. 21 UNC at Chapel Hill, a much needed win to add to their resume.
