It’s only October, but we’ve already got our college football catch of the year.

The honor goes to Stanford wide receiver Francis Owusu, as the junior wideout made a catch that defied logic in the Cardinal’s 56-36 win over UCLA on Thursday night.

The catch came early in the third quarter on a trick play.

Running back Christian McCaffrey lined up in the wildcat and took the snap. He then handed to receiver Bryce Love who came down the line of scrimmage on a jet sweep. Then, Love flipped the ball to quarterback Kevin Hogan. All the while, Owusu ran down the field into the end zone and Hogan uncorked a deep ball from the backfield

The result was incredible.

“I can’t describe that catch,” David Shaw told reporters, according to ESPN.com. “I don’t understand what happened to be honest.”

The catch even overshadowed an historic performance from McCaffrey. The running back totaled a school-record 243 rushing yards and four touchdowns in the rout.
