Ron Artest may play basketball for the Lakers out in Los Angeles, but his heart belongs to a baseball team in Flushing, N.Y.

A lifelong New York Mets fan, Artest decided to display his rap talents and profess his love for his team all in one fell swoop with the theme titled "Metropoli-Tons of Fun." Artest is a native of Queens but states in the lyrics that he was "raised in Shea" in reference to the old home of the Mets, Shea Stadium. The Mets moved into their new home, Citi Field, in 2009.

The rap first appeared on The Pretty Good Sports Show, an online series that airs every Wednesday on ESPN.com. Artest gave an interview session on the show before unveiling his new theme.

Artest references several staples of the Mets and the experience of taking in a game in New York. He even gives a shoutout to "my man Jason Bay," but that's probably because it rhymes with Shea.

Nonetheless, the tune is fun and snappy and is good for a laugh for any sports fan out there. Check out Artest's homage to his hometown team in the video below.
