Rajon Rondo and Shelden Williams put on a clinic, both on and off the court, at Edwards Middle School in Charlestown, Mass., last week.

According to NBA.com, the Celtics players visited the school as part of a Stay in School assembly on March 26.

"This is one of my favorite programs because students need to recognize how important doing well in school is," Rondo said. "By working hard and taking your school work seriously you can change the rest of your life for the better."

Rondo and Williams held a basketball clinic with high-achieving students followed by an assembly encouraging the children to take pride in their daily classroom work.

The Celtics players delivered a special message to students using the acronym PRIDE — P for perseverance, R for respect, I for integrity, D for decisions and E for education.

The Stay in School assemblies allow Celtics players to help motivate students to work hard and stay in school. Top students will be singled out for academic achievement and perfect attendance at the end of the year.
