Cody Ross Batting Cleanup, Adrian Gonzalez Hits Fifth for Red Sox in Kansas CityAdrian Gonzalez had a rough go of it during Sunday's marathon 17-inning loss to the Orioles. The Red Sox first baseman went 0-for-8 out of the cleanup spot, and it looks like he'll be moving down in the order to try to regroup.

Right fielder Cody Ross will jump into the four-hole in the Boston order Monday night, while Gonzalez drops down a spot and will hit fifth in the series opener in Kansas City.

The Red Sox send Felix Doubront (1-1, 5.19 ERA) to the mound, with high hopes that the starter can help spell a seemingly beaten-down bullpen. The relievers pitched 26 2/3 innings altogether over the past three days.

On the other side of the hill, the Royals will be relying on left-hander Jonathan Sanchez (1-1, 5.24) to help the team keep improving on their solid start to the month of May (3-3).
